剧情介绍
通过对前德州监狱死刑执行官Carroll Pickett(1982~1995)的采访，对美国德州的死刑判决提出了挑战。Carroll曾在教会作牧师，当德州监狱开始执行死刑处决时，他被作为前神职人员代表死刑犯，给犯人以最后的安慰。而当他回到家中，他会对所执行处决，都作了语音录音，描述了执行当时的经过，在95次处决中，其中一例是误判案件中，Carlos DeLuna被误判为杀人凶手，一旦死刑被执行后，犯人将再也无法翻案，洗脱罪名。退休后，Carroll公开了这些录音，描述死囚犯的最后时刻，不人道的死刑处决，并开始公开表明反对德州的死刑。死刑执行狱警Fred Allen原本支持死刑，但在目睹120次死刑后，当Fred不得不处决女囚犯Karla Faye后，再也无法承受，最终选择了辞职。
